Blair Athol Dark Sherry Cask 12 yo

by Oliver Klimek on July 24, 2009

Douglas of Drumlanrig – 57,6%

My Tasting Notes

Nose: Strong, dried fruit, Malaga ice-cream
Palate: Strong sherry, rum, toffee, grapes, some honey
Finish: Long and spicy
Overall: Hard to believe that this is only a 12 yo. This must be a top-notch first fill sherry cask. My guess would be Pedro Ximenez. Adding water doesn’t change the character very much.
