My Tasting Notes
Nose: Medicinal, slightly smoky, some apple
Palate: Liquorice, salt, medicinal, a very faint fruitiness can be made out
Finish: Long and spicy with a bit of smoke
Overall: Much more wood and less rounded than the 15yo. In a way it’s closer to the 10yo. But I think I still prefer the 15yo.

Discontinued, now replaced by the 18 yo – 43%
My Tasting Notes
Nose: Rather fruity, mango and melon, only a bit of smoke
Palate: Spicy peat, somewhat salty, fruity undertones
Finish: Long and spicy, medicinal
Overall: Lacks the punch of the 10 yo in favour of more complexity. Fruitiness diminuishes from nose to finish, “medicinality” increases.

My Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense and smoky, sea breeze with spray, a surprising hint of green apple
Palate: Peat punch, but not as sweet as the 10yo, very spicy, even a bit herbal
Finish: Very long and smoky
Overall: This is a powerful dram. An uncompromising young Laphroaig enhanced with strong wood notes. A little water seems to make it even stronger. Nothing for the faint of heart, but a true delight for those who can take a punch.

My Tasting Notes
Nose: Typically Laphroaig, peat, seaweed, medicin cabinet, but also hints of fruit
Palate: Peat and medicine team up with a slight sherry sweetness. With a bit (!) of water it gets slightly salty
Finish: Long, sweet and dry
Overall: The typical Laphoaig kick is there, but more tamed in conparison to the 10 yo CS. Don’t use to much water! The sherry makes it an interesting variation from the standard, but it doesn’t quite live up to it.
